I could see it beautifully in my mind. I set out to create this high-impact work of art capturing the essence of an angel’s wings, with their beauty and grace, as well as the magnificence of the structure and softness of the feathers.

I knew a project like this would take considerable design planning as steel isn’t normally considered soft, but through intricate cuts, I believe I created the angel wings to be delicate with grandeur. Combined with the shape of the cross, the two harmoniously accent one another in a grand Christian art showpiece. I like the contrast in the wood grains. They seem to add an airy movement, similar to the wings.

From sunup til sundown, my mind races with ideas. I capture many through my work as a metal and woodworking artist in Minnesota.
